female:pressure is an international network for female, transgender and non-binary DJs, musicians, composers, producers, visual artists, agents, journalists and researchers working in the realms of electronic music and digital arts. the network was founded in 1998 by Vienna-based musician and artist Electric Indigo, and now has a membership of over 2100 artists from 74 countries. female:pressure hosts the Perspectives Festival in Berlin, a hugely popular ‘Visibility’ exhibition/blog documenting female producers at work - femalepressure.tumblr.com, an annual "FACTS Survey" cataloguing the number of female and gender non-binary performers at international festivals, as well as parties, events, and club nights in cities throughout the world. http://femalepressure.net
