Richie Spice certainly comes from a musical family, with his brothers all involved within the world of reggae. His brothers include well known DJ Snatcher Lion, vocalist Spanner Banner and producer Pliers, of Chakademus and Pliers fame. Spice began playing at shows alongside his brothers, helping to build his profile, before working alongside producers Clive Hunt and Dennis “Star” Hayles for his early singles.
Spice made his name first on the live circuit, performing at major events including Reggae Sunsplash and River Reggae Bash. As well as touring the US and Europe with his brothers, he also worked with Rita Marley, as the opening act for her tours in 1996.
Signing to Island Jamaica, Spice released his debut album, “Living Ain’t Easy” in 1999, again teaming up with Hunt for his production skills. The album became a success, bolstered by the hit single, “Grooving My Girl,” which gained airplay worldwide. His second, “Universal,” followed in 2000, featuring the hit singles “Earth a Run Red,” “Land of Jamaica” and “Time So Rough.”
Since these early releases, Spice has continued to find success, with albums including “In The Streets to Africa” (2007), “Gideon Boot” (2008) and “Book of Job” (2011) all charting highly on polls for the Top Reggae Albums of the year. His music has also been used by producers, most notably Coki of Digital Mystikz fame, who created a popular dubstep reworking of “Marijuana,” renamed “Burnin’.”
Bought 2 tickets and couldn't cancel the one after my partner fell ill and couldn't make it. Was standing outside for over an hour post 6PM when doors were meant to open.
Show was meant to Start at 7 but didn't start till 10.
Total waste of my time and very disappointed with the organisers.
