Why a band would name themselves “Celebration” is absolutely and completely beyond me but whatever, lets talk about this Baltimore based band who have made such huge waves in the psychedelic soul scene for the last decade. Word on the street is that they are returning to the UK for a tour alongside Future Islands.
They are a fantastic band to watch live, being led by the songstress that is Katrina Ford, who has so much charisma, enough to command an audience of any size I’m sure. They are a band who’s music has evolved over time, transcending through the last ten years, making an impression wherever they go. I had the pleasure of seeing them perform songs such as “Diamonds” and “War”, both songs that are laden with huge hooks and monumental melodies that stay in your head for weeks to come. Sean Antanaitis is one of those multi instrumentalists that is so clearly the brains of the operation, who doesn’t seem to even take a breather between songs, but hey. It all pays off. They’ve just got to change their name.
