The Barbican Centre is a large performance arts centre on Silk Street, opposite Barbican Underground Station. Restaurants and cafes are available in the centre, as well as additional concert halls and exhibition spaces. The centre was opened in 1982 costing the City Of London Corporation £161 million. In total there is: a main hall, a large theatre, a smaller theatre, an art gallery, a 3 screen cinema, 3 restaurants, 7 conference halls, 2 trade exhibition halls and additional informal performance spaces.
