New in Clubs: Wrongbar By Stacey McLeod Feb 22, 2008 Having faith that when you build it, they will come is often dangerous in Toronto’s nightlife scene, and while clubs continue to close as fast as they open, one new Parkdale bar and club has come up with a formula that works. Wrongbar has set up shop far from the Entertainment District, in a club-starved neighbourhood on the rise, building up a crowd long before it opened its doors. Then again, what else can you expect when one of the city’s top DJs, Nav Sangha (DJ Nasty Nav, Play De Record), and one of Toronto’s favourite bartenders, Chris Harper (Communist’s Daughter, Sweaty Betty’s), team up? WHAT’S PLAYING: Regular special guests and of course, DJ Nasty Nav (Nav Sangha) himself. ON THE MENU: In true Parkdale style, there’s Labatt 50 in bottles and on tap, as well as tons of bottled beers and, of course, shots. THE CROWD: Good looking Parkdalers and the fairly recent “Poshdale” crowd. WHAT TO WEAR: Whatever you want. TIP: Check out the pinball machine and jukebox.
